Taveuni Estates Golf Club - Taveuni, Fiji

This would be the first golf course outside of the USA I ever played.  It was a nine-hole course with spectacular views of the ocean.  In fact, some of the holes bordered the ocean.  Nestled among native bushes, this course winds around palm trees with beaches and ocean just a stone's throw away.  The course is very short, but the small greens require accurate iron shots in order to score well.

You are almost guaranteed to have the entire course to yourself as the island of Taveuni has very few inhabitants or resorts.  Taveuni Estates is not the most challenging golf course you will ever play, but it is relaxing.

After the round, a nice clubhouse awaits with great views and drinks if you are so inclined.

Overall, I wouldn't go to this course to be wowed by the course itself.  However, if you would like a relaxing round of golf; that is not too challenging; on a course with magnificent ocean views; then this is your course.

Pros
- Relaxing golf
- No one else on the course
- Views of the ocean on most holes

Cons
- The course was not manicured very well
- Short layout
- Small greens

If golf is not to your liking, there are plenty of other activities to keep one busy on the island of Taveuni.  Diving is amazing in Fiji.  The dive shop is PADI certified and has over 20 routine dive sites.
